Vitesse

Avec un mât "Performance" plus haut, une grand voile entièrement lattée “full batten”, une hélice à mise en drapeau automatique Maxprop, et l'avantageuse ligne de flottaison d'un voilier de 50 pieds, ce yacht dévore 200 milles par jour. La croisière sans effort à 8 nœuds et des vitesses de 10 à 11 nœuds soutenues dans de bonnes conditions, sont monnaie courante. Nous avons traversé du Panama aux Marquises en seulement 24 jours!

La vie facile

Profitez d'un enrouleur électrique pour le génois, d'un winch électrique pour hisser la grand-voile et d'un pilote automatique hydraulique pour faire le gros du travail en navigation.

À l'intérieur, vous trouverez des toilettes électriques, un lave-linge séchant, deux bureaux, et de nombreux espaces de rangement facilement accessibles pour les vêtements, les provisions, la vaisselle et toutes vos autres affaires. Ce ne sont là que quelques-uns des nombreux aménagements qui réduisent considérablement l'encombrement et le nombre d'étapes nécessaires pour arriver à ce que l'on veut obtenir, jusqu'au point où la vie quotidienne devienne-t-aussi gérable que si l'on vivait à terre. Pas de vie à la dure sur cet Océanis 50 !

Cuisine gourmande

La cuisine est la meilleure que nous ayons vu dans cette catégorie de voilier avec le plus grand plan de travail dédié. Elle dispose de deux réfrigérateurs avec congélateurs, d'éviers doubles avec un robinet qui fournit également de l'eau filtrée, d'un robinet à pompe à pied pour la redondance, d'un micro-ondes, d'une cuisinière à quatre feux et d'un four avec gril, et même d'une hotte aspirante. Si le gaz devient rare lorsque vous naviguez hors des sentiers battus, préparez simplement vos repas sur la plaque de cuisson à induction 220 V discrètement rangée sous le four - notre record est de quatre mois de cuisson exclusivement électrique, seulement à base d'énergie solaire !

Un zeste de luxe...

Que vous naviguiez en famille ou que vous receviez des amis, l'Océanis 50 de Bénéteau est un excellent choix. Deux de ses trois cabines ont une salle de bain attenante, chacune avec sa propre cabine de douche séparée. La cabine de propriétaire dispose de deux armoires, d'un grand tiroir, de quatre équipets fermants, de sept planches d'étagère et de quatre casiers au sol qui constituent un immense espace de rangement pour les vêtements. La couchette centrale facilite l'entrée ou la sortie du lit sans déranger son partenaire. La coiffeuse fait aussi office de bureau d'ordinateur ergonomique grâce à l'ajout d'un support clavier coulissant. Des prises USB ont été installées dans tout le bateau pour garder vos iPads et GoPros complètement chargés. Et avons-nous mentionné le climatiseur CruisAir dans les trois cabines et le carré ?

Nous avons choisi de mettre notre Océanis 50 sur le marché à un très bon prix pour une vente rapide et demandons 189 000 euros, TVA européenne acquitée.

Nous vivons à bord et effectuons un entretien continu et utiliserons le bateau normalement jusqu'à la vente. Il est vendu "tel quel" et "où il se trouve", mais nous pouvons bien entendu nous mettre d'accord sur l'endroit où vous le remettre.   • 40 A Dolphin shore power charger, for 3 battery packs simultaneously
  • 40 A Renogy DC-DC battery charger to charge from the engine alternator whilst protecting it from the lithium batteries
  • Very quiet, 5 kW, inboard diesel Northern Lights generator*: 754 hours.
  • USB sockets running off 12V throughout the yacht to charge tablets and phones, cameras, etc.
  • 12V cigar lighter socket at chart table
  • 230V sockets in each cabin, the galley, and saloon
  • Most lightbulbs replaced with LEDs
  • Shore power inlet at engine controls in cockpit, so you don't forget to disconnect before sailing off. With all the solar and lithium, we never connect to shore power anymore though.

*[We stopped using the generator after upgrading to lithium batteries. When it became time for its annual oil change it wouldn't turn over anymore. This was caused by some corrosion, see mechanic's report below. The corrosion in turn was caused by a drippy cap for the emergency steering system, located in the cockpit floor. This has been sealed but the generator itself wasn't fixed; the mechanic was already committed to a huge job on another boat and we had to sail on. Here's his report to allow you to evaluate the work needed:
"The generator visual inspection indicated that corrosion has built up between the main AC generator rotor ventilator fan and the engine bell housing. It will necessitate 6 hours to remove the AC generator and clean the corrosion in order to bring the AC generator into service. The Diesel motor has been serviced for storage: each cylinder was filled with 200 milliliters of clean diesel. Before starting the generator it is required to remove the glow plugs, crank the engine to empty the diesel, then reinstall the glow plugs. This task can be done in less than 30 minutes. The diesel engine of the generator is in good condition. The fresh cooling system was pressurized to 15 psi. The pressure was holding well showing the integrity of the head gasket. No fault found." ]

One of the very best galleys on any yacht this size:

  • Oodles of truly useable counter space!
  • Oodles of storage!
  • 4-burner propane (or butane) gimbaled cooker with oven
  • 3-speed cooker extractor fan to get rid of cooking smells
  • Microwave oven
  • Induction cooking hob with thermostat. Measures pot temperature and allows for precise cooking without using any more electricity than strictly needed.
  • 2 refrigeration units: top-loading fridge with freezer compartment and front-loading fridge also with freezer compartment
  • Double sink with filtered tap for drinking water straight from the water tanks
  • Foot pump for either salt or fresh water (selector valve under floor)
  • Trash bin under sink
  • Both bathrooms are ensuite to their respective cabins.
  • The aft bathroom can also be accessed from the salon.
  • Both feature a separate shower stall.
  • Both have Quiet Flush electric Jabsco heads.
  • The aft bathroom has a holding tank and the forward one has extra storage instead.  (It would be trivial to order the right parts from Beneteau and install them in the foreseen space should you wish to add a holding tank in the front as well.  Parts availability is just one of the many advantages of a big brand boat.)
  • The forward head flushes with fresh or salt water (or both if you want to start with salt and finish with fresh for instance).
  • Full size LG washer-dryer. Washes a 6 kg (13.2 lb) load and dries a 3 kg (6.6 lb) load.  A rapid washing cycle uses about 300 W which is the equivalent of only 15 minutes of full exposure of the solar panels to the sun.
  • Dessalator Duo 100 watermaker.  This unit from the leading European brand is very easy to use with its automated rinse cycle and makes a whopping 100 L per hour (26 US Gal/h). It runs simply off 12V and is evenly matched with the solar panels: 100 L (26 US Gal) = 1 hour of watermaker = 1 hour of full sun exposure to compensate for the electricity used. If you run it around noon on a sunny day it will work entirely off solar and there's even going to be a little surplus power to keep charging the batteries.
  • 3-zone, sea water cooled, CruisAir air-conditioning for the saloon, the forward master cabin, and the two aft cabins together, each zone with its own digital controller.  It is possible to run the air-conditioning from the big inverter however the power requirements are so high that it would deplete the batteries in about 4 hours and therefore it is recommended to be on shore or generator power. It takes roughly 2:30 hours of full solar exposure to compensate for 1 hour of air-conditioning.  If you cool only the salon and not the cabins, it takes roughly 1:30 hours of full sun exposure to compensate for 1 hour of air-conditioning. 

FYI: a sunny day will generally yield the equivalent of 5 hours of full solar exposure.

  • New sprayhood in December 2021

  • TV mount on bulkhead next to the dinette (we hung a painting from it which you can see in our pictures) with assorted AV cables already installed.
  • 12V Caframo fans throughout for ventilation: two Sirocco Elite, two Sirocco, and one 757
  • Leecloth plus netting to completely close off the starboard back cabin berth
  • Slats under the matresses
  • Comes with the two stools as illustrated in the Beneteau brochure. They can be bolted into the floor to keep them in place while under way. They'll also fit under the salon table if you want to extend the bench to have a wider sleeping or lounging area.
  • 4 hp, 4 stroke Mercury outboard, starting to show its age but still very reliably fulfilling its duty.
  • Outboard crane to easily deploy the outboard from its pushpit storage to the tender.
  • Good size self-bailing cockpit locker, huge lazarette spanning the whole beam of the stern, and very large sail locker at the bow
  • Ultra-leather Brisa upholstery in salon showing wear but we still have the original gorgeous, textured cloth upholstery in cream white that is in great condition except for a single tiny stain. It was washed and stored vacuum packed. You can see the color and texture of this fabric on the mattresses in the photos.
  • The water heater works on engine coolant water and on 230V. It can even run off the inverter. [Currently the resistor, i.e. the heating element, has electrolyzed, which is a recurrent problem even when an anode is fitted on it if you forget to replace it. We have a spare resistor, anode, and even thermostat on board plus the tool to extract these parts. There's no reason to replace the resistor now however, since we never heat water in this climate and the previous resistor corroded without ever being used, ever. Only replace it when you're heading to colder climates is our recommendation.] 
  • The large front-facing chart table in the saloon, and the vanity/desk with keyboard tray in the owner's cabin, provide two distinct work spaces for digital nomads.
